VIONIC powered by INTELLO is the newest-generation potentiostat/galvanostat by Metrohm Autolab. It integrates the highest specifications and most advanced features into a single, compact instrument, without the need of additional modules.
VIONIC is a high-performance single-channel potentiostat/galvanostat designed to support a wide range of electrochemical research applications, offering both low to high voltage and adaptive current ranges to measure currents from a few fA to ± 6 A.
High-quality EIS (> 99.75 % is included) is included with a maximum frequency of 10MHz, and measurable impedance from 100 μΩ to 1 TΩ.

The VIONIC powered by INTELLO is a comprehensive solution for all fields of electrochemistry. It comes equipped with a wide array of techniques, from fundamental methods like cyclic and linear sweep voltammetry, chronopotentiometry, and chronoamperometry, to more advanced ones such as high-frequency electrochemical impendence spectroscopy, measurements with high sampling rates (down to 1 μs), and voltammetry with a true linear ramp.
The combination of specifications (wide current range availability, selectable floating or grounded modes, wide range of available frequencies for EIS, high accuracy or high compliance mode), ensure VIONIC can meet the evolving needs of any research project without the need for additional modules.

The second sense electrode is an additional voltage follower which can measure a second voltage versus the reference electrode, for example the potential on the counter electrode, within the electrochemical cell. It is also possible to measure the impedance on the counter electrode with the S2 electrode. VIONIC includes "Second Sense (S2)" as a standard feature, which allows for dual monitoring of both the full-cell impedance and half-cell impedance simultaneously during an Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) measurement.
VIONIC’s fast sampling (1 μs sampling interval) and seamless measurements (0 ns gap between commands) for both applied and measured signals ensure no data points are missed.
Unlike many other potentiostats that use staircase or digital approximation for potential sweeps, VIONIC includes a true analog scan as standard. This is critical for capturing high-resolution data on fast, interfacial processes, providing more accurate and reliable results for techniques like cyclic voltammetry at high scan rates.
VIONIC offers four different floating modes, 1. Grounded working electrode (WE), 2. Grounded counter electrode (CE), Grounded reference electrode (RE) and full floating (standard). With the Selectable Floating feature, VIONIC can be used for corrosion measurements on any type of electrochemical cells, independent of the grounding state of the sample, electrodes or cell.
VIONIC has 10 million data points of onboard memory, which means it can run most measurements for up to weeks without being connected to a computer. With its possibility of network installation, VIONIC can be monitored, and the data retrieved from a computer on the same network. This also allows for additional data safety during network interruptions or accidental computer powering off: VIONIC keeps running measurements, and the data is safe until a connection is established again.

Safety at the core: safe data, safe cell, safe experiments. Data is continuously stored in a database while the experiment is running. It can also be automatically saved to VIONIC’s internal memory in case of untethering, network interruptions, or disconnection, which prevents data loss in the event of an unexpected interruption. For additional safety, data can be automatically exported in multiple standard formats to a user-defined location. The built-in cell protection center safeguards against overvoltage and overcurrent at all times—both during and between measurements.
A complete battery cycling environment allowing battery and materials researchers to design testing procedures and collect data in ways tailored to their applications : CC and CC-CV cycling are easily set up and include automatic cycle data analysis (charge and discharge capacity, coulombic efficiency etc.) as well as advanced functions to enhance data (dQ/dE plots, ∑capacity, different types of potentials accross 3-electrode batteries). Plot coloring is automated for quick cycle recognition, and the filter function makes it easy to compare selected cycles within large datasets.
