UV-VIS-NIR Spectroelectrochemistry with Metrohm Autolab

Advanced real-time analysis of redox processes, reaction mechanisms, and material transformations with Metrohm Autolab’s EC–UV-VIS-NIR solutions

Metrohm Autolab offers a complete UV-VIS-NIR spectroscopy setup, as well as electrochemical instruments with full flexibility in the choice of potentiostat — all controlled by the powerful NOVA software package.

Key Benefits of Metrohm Autolab EC–UV-VIS-NIR Solutions:

Versatility, Flexibility and Ease of use

  • Unified Control: Electrochemical and spectroscopic components managed via one powerful software platform (NOVA)
  • Optimized Measurement :
    • Automatic and manual shutter control
    • Flexible and programmable methods
    • Selectable integration time
  • Accurate Synchronization: Electrochemical signals and UV-VIS-NIR spectra
  • Advanced Analysis:
    • Dark and blank spectrum subtraction
    • Absorbance and transmittance calculations
  • Outstanding local Metrohm support for configuring, using, and troubleshooting the complete hyphenated solution

Supports Standard UV-VIS-NIR Spectroelectrochemistry Workflows

  • Dark spectrum collection with the light off
  • Reference spectrum collection in supporting electrolyte with light on
  • Electrochemical measurement (i.e. CV, LSV or Chrono) with spectra collected at user-defined intervals
  • Data is collected and represented as overlay of absorbance or transmittance spectra and electrochemical signal in 2D or 3D plots
  • The changes in the spectra as a function of electrochemical environment can be analyzed in NOVA software

Metrohm Autolab UV-VIS-NIR spectrometers

The Metrohm Autolab Spectrophotometer is a compact device for applications in the UV-VIS-NIR wavelength range (200 - 1100 nm). This instrument is designed to work in combination with the Metrohm Autolab potentiostat/galvanostat controlled by the NOVA software. The spectrophotometer can be synchronized with electrochemical measurements, enabling direct and accurate correlation between electrochemical and spectroscopic data.
